Boyer Gallery

Belleville, Ks.

(About 120 miles west of St. Joseph, Mo. on 36 Highway.)

The gallery is North of 36 on the main North/South street in Belleville.

Go North past the town square, and watch

on the right for the gallery.

Picture quality - These pictures were taken inside the gallery with available

light and no tripod. The blurry quality can be blamed on my shakey hand.

I am posting the blurry ones anyhow. Perhaps the information they provide will be interesting.

In general the carved figures are about 5 inches tall. Some are taller such as the women play the pianos.

Sunflowers are around behind the shop. No movement that I could tell.

This is a life size piece along the road in front of the shop.

The young ladies boobs are socks filled with something and they flop about

as she peddles. This theme is used on more of Boyer's toys.

The tour guide volunteers the info that they are replaced about 3 times per year.

The Sabre saw is the drive for a windmill also outside in front.

The bottle factory is about 24 inches long.

This is a marble slide with 8 different courses for the marbles to follow.

Another marble toy. The marbles fall from above and hit a drum head.

They then are bounced into one of the cages with the red and yellow floors.

The marbles are falling perhaps 5 or 6 at a time and missing each other by maybe 1/2 inch.

This is a sand quarry.

Water fountain. Water is pumped to the top where it falls into each soldered brass

container until the container tips and dumps the water into the lower container. Perhaps 20 inches tall.

More marbles. Actually ball bearings.

The next four pictures are details of another toy. Exceptionally smooth movements.

The movement shown below is about 4 inches in total diameter.

Non Moving Guard in the base of one of the toys. Paul Boyer considers the large noses to be

his trademark.

This hen is quite large compared to the rest of Boyer's pieces. The hen is about 8 to 10 inches long.

She raises her rear and shoots the ball into a basket perhaps 10 to 12 inches behind her.

This is part of the Boyer Roofing crew.

There is a woman in the outhouse.

The flying bird is not part of the gear toy.

I think the wingspan is about 14 inches.

Here is the bird from the gear picture above. Bird has a wingspan of about 7 or so inches.

All of the drive motors are from washers and dryers.

The wood carver is a self portrait.

At one point in the movement the carver and the bird on the poll turn to face each other.

This is the one piece that is for sale. $300. Using the same boob design as on the

cyclist out front. This lady is about 10 inches tall.

The two pieces in the front operate from wind from a fan in the base.

The next 4 pictures are of the blacksmith shop.

Articulated winged flying machines. Exceptionally smooth operation. Wingspan of about 18 inches.

Motor/drive detail from wings.

End.
